During the performance, the sūtradhār holds the thread that connects scenes, characters, and meaning into a coherent whole. In Sanskrit drama (Nāṭyaśāstra), the sūtradhār is the narrator-director who introduces the pūrvaraṅga (prologue), establishes the rasa (aesthetic mood), and connects the audience to the performance. Our computational jīva is a simulated insect that senses the Earth’s magnetic field through quantum chemistry and navigates using neural circuits modelled on the insect brain. MāyāJīva bridges three levels of description: quantum spin chemistry (the radical-pair mechanism in cryptochrome), neural computation (a ring attractor compass and path integrator), and embodied navigation (a Langevin-driven agent traversing magnetic landscapes). The word pramāṇa (प्रमाण) means “valid cognition” — the means by which reliable knowledge is obtained. In the Buddhist epistemological tradition of Dignāga and Dharmakīrti, there are exactly two pramāṇas: direct perception (pratyakṣa) and inference (anumāna).
